Members of Association of Public Finance Accountants of Sri Lanka (APFASL),part of the institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CASL), who receive the CASL CPFA designation (through examination or appropriate equivalence ) have been recognized as members of the Chartered Institute for Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) London.

To cater to the needs of the public sector accountants, auditors and tax officers for their career progression study requirements and to respond to the demand for a comprehensive academic program in PFM, CA Sri Lanka, together with the Association of Public Finance Accountants of Sri Lanka (APFASL) has designed and offered the Master of Public Financial Management (MPFM) Degree program. CA Sri Lanka has received approval for the degree program from the Ministry of Education and the degree program was ceremonially launched on the 18th of May 2023. The classes are due to commence by early July 2023.
The event was graced by Prof. Chandana Udawatte, Vice Chairman of the University Grants Commission, as the Chief Guest, Mr. Heshana Kuruppu, Vice President of CA Sri Lanka, and Mr. V. Kanagasabapathy, President of APFASL. The event concluded following a panel discussion comprising Senior Prof. Udawatte, Mr. Kuruppu, Mr. Kanagasabapathy, and Senior Prof. Lalitha Fernando of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, while the session was moderated by Senior Prof. Kennedy Gunawardena of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
